I found a link to an interesting article at the Humanities Talks blog. The article, The 20 Greatest Historical Myths, dubunks many well-known historical "facts" as pure myth. I'll leave it up to you to decide how significant some of these inaccuracies are (or if even true), but I recommend this as a read for anyone who likes history. My favorite correction was that Magellan never actually circumnavigated the globe, and personally only made it half way around the world.

Richard and I covered some of the historical people on the list in our Quotiki podcast including Napoleon, Marie Antoinette, Shakespeare and Ghandi. We even covered some of these historical inaccuracies ourselves, but we fell for a few of them too.
